Usage Note 42356: The SAS Universal Viewer cannot open a CPORT .XPT transport file
The SAS Universal Viewer can open an .xpt file that is created with the XPORT engine. However, it cannot open an .xpt file that is created with the CPORT procedure.
If you use Microsoft Windows WordPad to open an .xpt file that is created with XPORT engine, you see the following information:

However, if you use WordPad to open an .xpt file that is created with PROC CPORT, you see meaningless characters and text similar to the following:

Currently, there is no solution or workaround for this problem.
