Usage Note 32374: Determining whether you have SAS® 9.4 32-bit or SAS 9.4 x64 installed on Windows x64 machine

To determine if you have SAS 9.4 32-bit (for Windows) or 64-bit (for x64 Windows) installed on your x64 machine, check the following:
Method 1
Select Start ► All Programs ► SAS ► SAS 9.4. A menu displays:
- If you see SAS 9.4 (32) (English) listed, you have SAS 9.4 for 32-bit Windows installed on your Windows x64 operating system.
- If you see SAS 9.4 (English) listed, you have SAS 9.4 for x64 Windows installed on your Windows x64 operating system.
Method 2
Open SAS 9.4 and look in your log. At the top of the log in the notes, you will have either of the following notes:
- SAS 9.4 (32-bit version)
NOTE: SAS(r) Proprietary Software 9.4 (TS1M8) Licensed to Windows Full Product Order, Site XXXXXXXXXX. Note: This session is executing on the X64_10Pro platform. - SAS 9.4 (x64 version)
NOTE: SAS(r) Proprietary Software 9.4 (TS1M8) Licensed to Microsoft Windows for x64 Full Product Order, Site XXXXXXXXXXX. Note: This session is executing on the x64_10Pro platform.
Does this system have an x64 or a 32-bit BI installation?
- Click Start ► Settings ► Control Panel ► Administrative tools ► Services.
- Right-click Metadata Server Service.
- Select Properties.
- Under the General tab, navigate to the executable.
You have a x64 BI installation if you see C:\Program Files\SASHome\SASFoundation\9.4\SAS.EXE
You have a 32-bit BI installation if you see C:\Program Files\SASHome\x86\SASFoundation\9.4\SAS.EXE

In order to know if you have installed SAS 9.4 32-bit, x64, 32-bit BI system or a x64 BI system on a Windows x64 operating system, you can check by using either of the following methods.
