Usage Note 24404: Do Platform Computing's scheduling servers support a Web GUI that allows remote management of production jobs?
Yes and no. Platform Computing provides an enterprise-ready web GUI to LSF 5.1 (not available with the SAS OEM version of LSF). This web GUI provides the capability for remote management at the job level but not at the flow level (JS). By default, Platform Computing software does not support Web access to the flow level. However, here are two methods that you can use to access flow information over the Internet:
- Type the JS commands from the command line. Because the SAS OEM version does not provide all the JS commands, you need a full license and the omitted components from Platform Computing to do this. (Platform Computing plans to lift this restriction with the next SAS OEM release of its scheduling servers, which is planned for SAS 9.2.)
- Use Citrix (or its equivalent) to re-direct the display from the computer where JS flow manager is installed, and pipe the display to a remote machine.
A possible enhancement to the first method would be to build a Web interface to the JS commands. This is something that neither Platform Computing nor SAS has done. However, some customers of Platform Computing have done this to gain remote access at the flow level.

fixed.
