Usage Note 22568: One sample test and confidence interval for a binomial probability
Use the BINOMIAL(P=value) option in the TABLE statement of PROC FREQ to get an asymptotic test as well as asymptotic and exact confidence intervals for a binomial probability. Use the P= suboption to test that the binomial probability is equal to a value other than 0.5. Adding the BINOMIAL option in the EXACT statement gives an exact test.
For example, the following statements show how to test that an observed proportion, 7/13, is equal to 0.5 and to 0.6:
data a;
x=1; f=7; output;
x=2; f=6; output;
run;
proc freq;
weight f;
table x / binomial;
run;
proc freq;
weight f;
table x / binomial(p=.6);
run;
