This note documents how to renew the license for the following versions of Platform Job Scheduler and Platform Suite for SAS.

• Platform Job Scheduler 5.31 (and Platform LSF 5.1)
• Platform Suite for SAS 2.1 (includes Process Manager 3.0 and LSF 6.0)
• Platform Suite for SAS 3.1 (includes Process Manager 3.1 and LSF 6.2)
• Platform Suite for SAS 4.1 (includes Process Manager 7.0 and LSF 7.02)
• Platform Suite for SAS 5.1 (includes Process Manager 7.1 and LSF 7.05)
• Platform Suite for SAS 6.1 (includes Process Manager 8.1 and LSF 7.06)
• Platform Suite for SAS 7.1 (includes Process Manager 8.2 and LSF 8.01)
• Platform Suite for SAS 8.1 (includes Process Manager 9.1 and LSF 9.1.1.1)
• Platform Suite for SAS 9.1 (includes Process Manager 9.1.3 and LSF 9.1.3)
• Platform Suite for SAS 10.1 (includes Process Manager 10.1 and LSF 10.1)

Renewing the License

1. First, rename the file PLATFORMJSnnnn.TXT or LSF92_xxxxx_xxxxxxxx to license.dat.
2. Place the new file, license.dat, in two locations for both the scheduler component and the LSF component, based on OS and Product Version.
   • For Windows servers:

     Platform Job Scheduler 5.31 and LSF 5.1

     • C:\LSF_51\conf
     • C:\Program Files\Platform Computing\JobScheduler\conf

     Note: For the Windows items below, the installed Platform component Windows environment variables are referenced. You can use them in command-line commands such as DIR "%LSF_ENVDIR%" and DIR "%JS_ENVDIR%".

     • Process Manager 3.x or later: %JS_ENVDIR%
     • LSF 6.x: %LSF_ENVDIR%\..\conf (this might be something similar to C:\LSF_6.0\conf)
     • LSF 7.x or later: %LSF_ENVDIR% (this might be something similar to \\server\LSF_share\conf)
   • For UNIX servers:
     • JS_TOP/conf

       In this case, JS_TOP is the installation directory for Platform Job Scheduler 5.31 or Platform Process Manager 3.0 and later.

     • LSF_TOP/conf

       In this case, LSF_TOP is the installation directory for Platform LSF.

     Note that, under UNIX, if the profile files for the two components already are sourced so that all the environment variables are set, these directories are $JS_ENVDIR and $LSF_ENVDIR, respectively.

3. Restart the services.

   If you are running Windows, restart these Windows services:

   • Platform LIM
   • Platform RES
   • Platform SBD
   • Process Manager (or Platform Job Scheduler if running version 5.31)

   Restarting the Windows server might be required, if restarting the above Windows services does not update the license information.

   If you are running UNIX, restart the processes. As the root user, make sure you source the profiles via commands:

   # cd LSF_TOP/conf # . ./profile.lsf # cd JS_TOP/conf # . ./profile.js

   Then issue the following commands on the command line:

   # jadmin stop # badmin hshutdown # lsadmin resshutdown # lsadmin limshutdown

   Then restart the daemons via the following commands:

   # lsadmin limstartup # lsadmin resstartup # badmin hstartup # jadmin start
