The purpose of this workshop is to construct star schemes and utilize them for data warehouse development. You will learn the basic principles of data modelling and star schemes as well as how to create and apply such star schemes. The course is a continuation of subjects presented in SAS Data Integration Studio: Essentials.

Learn how to The workshop deals with two major subjects: Theory on dimensional modelling and practical creation and application of star schemes. The content of the workshop is divided between theory and hands on exercises. You will work with an illustrative case during the course.

1) The data warehouse architecture will be examined, i.e. ER modelling, dimensional modelling, star schemes, history etc. You will learn to create a Fact Qualifier analysis for rapid identification of the user’s requirement of data information and conversion into a dimensional data model.

2) Data modelling and star schemes are being constructed in SAS® Data Integration Studio.
