Accelerating SAS® Code on the SAS® Viya® PlatformThis course is for SAS programmers who want to learn how to run code on the SAS Viya platform. In the course, you first learn how you can easily run traditional SAS code in SAS Viya like you have in SAS 9. Then you learn how to modernize your SAS code to take advantage of SAS Cloud Analytic Services (CAS) on the platform to boost program performance. CAS is a high-performance in-memory analytic engine that performs massively parallel processing (MPP) on data of any size, working with multiple machines, CPUs, and threads for lightning-fast results. The course focuses on how to access, manage, analyze, and manipulate in-memory tables on the distributed CAS server using traditional SAS code as well as new coding techniques. This course is not intended for beginning SAS software users.

Using LLMs to Get Started with SAS CodingThis workshop introduces programmers to the practical use of large language models (LLMs), such as ChatGPT, as a partner in code development. We’ll walk through three main cases where LLMs can be particularly useful for those learning new code: (1) Generating a first draft of code, which gets you 80-90% of the way to a working solution, (2) Understanding complex code written by someone else, and (3) Supporting code documentation, to make your work clearer and easier to maintain. Moreover, we’ll start with best practices on how to interact with LLMs to optimize the output generated.
