Minimum System Requirements for the SAS Data Providers

Client Requirements

• Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000 or Windows XP
• Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) Version 2.7 or higher. MDAC is available from the Microsoft Web site.
• The SAS/SHARE Data Provider requires a valid TCP/IP configuration.
• The IOM Data Provider requires a valid TCP/IP configuration if you use the IOM Bridge for COM (a component of Integration Technologies) to attach to a SAS Integrated Object Model (IOM) server.

Server Requirements

• The SAS/SHARE Data Provider requires a SAS/SHARE server to access remote data. A SAS/SHARE server is not required for local data access if the local machine has the SAS Base product installed and licensed. See Starting a Single-User Local Server with the SAS/SHARE Provider for more information.

• The SAS IOM Data Provider requires a SAS Integrated Object Model (IOM) server.
• The SAS OLAP Data Provider requires a SAS OLAP Server.
