Run the Task and View the Results
  1. Click Run.

  2. Review the results. Scroll down to the table that has the column Type I SS. The value of Pr > F is significant at less than .0001, so the results show that ProductName is a good indicator of profitability, as you might suspect.

  1. Let's look further to see which products are good indicators of profitability for the company. With a 95% confidence interval, a product with a p-value of less than .05 is significant and is a good indicator of profitability. You look in the column labeled Pr > |t| to find this value.

    As you look through the results, you find that the following seven products are good indicators of profitability:

    • Cote de Blaye
    • Manjimup Dried Apples
    • Northwoods Cranberry Sauce
    • Raclette Courdavault
    • Sir Rodney's Marmalade
    • Thuringer Rostbratwurst
    • Vegie-spread

If these products are selling well, then that's a good indication that the specialty foods store will be profitable.

  1. Close both the Query Builder and Linear Models tabs.
