SAS Address Update Add-On

The SAS Address Update add-on for SAS Data Management Studio enables you to use the United States Postal Service (USPS) NCOALink® system to identify and update address information about customer records. For businesses and organizations with very large North America-based customer information databases, this feature is key for maintaining accurate and up-to-date address information for location-based marketing efforts, direct mail marketing, and similar activities. Data Management Server for SAS 

Some SAS offerings include SAS Data Integration Studio, SAS Data Quality Server, and SAS software. Many of the features in SAS Data Quality Server and SAS software can be used in SAS Data Integration Studio jobs. For example, you can use SAS standardization schemes and definitions in SAS Data Integration Studio jobs. You can also execute SAS jobs, profiles, and services from SAS Data Integration Studio.

To support SAS offerings that include the software above, you must set the following global option from the main menu in SAS Data Management Studio

Select the following: ToolsData Management Studio OptionsData Management Server OptionsConnect to Data Management Server for SAS.

If you do not set this option, then you will get licensing errors when jobs are submitted to the server.

SAS Federation Server

The SAS Federation Server is a scalable data server that uses threaded, multi-user, standards-based technology to integrate heterogeneous data sources. The server acts as a hub that provides clients with data by accessing, managing, and sharing SAS data as well as several third-party relational databases.

SAS Lineage

SAS Lineage is a web client that enables you to view the lineage of sources and targets in a job. For more information about SAS Lineage, see its documentation page: http://support.sas.com/documentation/onlinedoc/dmlin.

You can export lineage data from the active repository for a SAS Data Management Server to the SAS Web Infrastructure Platform (WIP). You can then use SAS Lineage to display the lineage information. For more information, see Exporting Lineage Data to SAS Web Infrastructure Platform.

SAS Job Monitor

If your site has licensed SAS® Environment Manager and SAS® Job Monitor, then you can use a web browser to display run-time statistics for SAS Data Management Studio jobs and the nodes within those jobs. For more information, see Displaying Run-Time Statistics in SAS Job Monitor.

SAS Business Data Network

If you want to associate SAS Business Data Network terms with SAS Data Management Studio jobs, tables, and other objects, you must export lineage data from the active repository for a SAS Data Management Server to the SAS Web Infrastructure Platform (WIP). SAS Visual Analytics Report Used to Monitor Data Quality

To monitor the quality of data jobs, you can create a data monitoring job in SAS Data Management Studio. Then you can upload data quality information to a SAS Visual Analytics report.

SAS Reference Data Manager

SAS Reference Data Manager enables you to create collections of reference data that are referred to as domains. The following features in SAS Data Management Studio can use these domains:

The new domains are stored on the SAS mid-tier, not in a SAS repository. The domains must be imported to the SAS repository so that they can be used in SAS Data Management Studio.
