DataFlux Data Management Studio 2.8: User Guide
The QKB Merge Tool is used to merge one Quality Knowledge Base (QKB) with another QKB. For example, if you customized your QKB, you might want to merge that customized QKB with a more recently released QKB.
In order to perform a merge, the following conditions must be met:
Important: Use caution when using the QKB Merge Tool. Once you begin the merge process, you cannot go back. For this reason, it is recommended that you back up the destination QKB before using the QKB Merge Tool.
Access the QKB Merge Tool by selecting Tools > QKB Merge Tool from the DataFlux Data Management Studio menu.
Select the source QKB for the merge process. During the merge process, the source QKB will merge into the destination QKB. The source QKB will not change during this action.
This is the destination for the merged QKB. The contents of the source QKB will be combined with the contents of the destination QKB. The destination QKB is overwritten with the result.
Note: Once you click Merge, the destination QKB will be modified.
This is an optional field. Specify a location for the log file. If no log file location is given, no log is created.
Click Merge to run the merge process. The source QKB will combine with the destination QKB.
If Merge is disabled, check that the source and destination QKBs are selected and are not the same QKB.
Click Exit to close the QKB Merge Tool when you are finished.
