DataFlux Data Management Studio 2.8: User Guide

Business Rule Usage Notes

Restriction on Reference Data Manager Domains Used in Business Rule Expressions

DataFlux Reference Data Manager enables you to manage a central repository of reference information. Examples of reference information include a list of NASDAQ stock symbols with their associated company names, or a list of valid ZIP codes with their associated cities and states. As described in Creating a Rule that Compares Two Fields, you can use the Expression Builder to define a DataFlux expression that will check two fields.

The Expression Builder enables you to compare a field value to the value in a DataFlux Reference Data Manager domain, as shown in the next display.

In order for the expression to work, the DataFlux Reference Data Manager domain must be public, and it must be of type List.

If you are working in the Reference Data Manager portion of Dataflux Web Studio, see the Reference Data Manager chapter in the DataFlux Web Studio User Guide for more information. If you are working in the separate SAS Reference Data Manager application, see SAS Reference Data Manager 3.3 User's Guide.
