The Options dialog for the Address Verification (US/Canada) node enables you to process options for result casing and blanks. You can also set locale-specific options for the United States and Canada. The General section of the dialog includes the following elements:

Proper case results - When selected, specifies that the Address Verification (US/Canada) node should return proper case results. By default, results are all uppercase, which is preferred by the US Postal Service (USPS).

Output blanks as nulls - When selected, specifies whether empty fields are passed as NULL, which will never cluster together, or as empty strings, which will be clustered together.

Use SuiteLink - When selected, specifies that the SuiteLink function is used.

Street abbreviation - When selected, specifies that the street abbreviation is used.

City abbreviation - When selected, specifies that the city abbreviation is used.

The United States section of the dialog includes the following elements:

Generate PS Form 3553 - Opens the PS Form 3553 Settings dialog, which you can complete, print, and submit to the USPS for a mailing discount.

Insert dash between ZIP and ZIP4 - When selected, specifies that a dash is inserted between the ZIP and ZIP4 output. You can maintain or remove the dash from the 9-digit code output to reports and queries.

CautionCaution: You cannot have multiple address verification nodes when you generate the CASS PS Form 3553. DPV and LACS must be enabled in the same node for the process to work properly.

DPV - Specifies the Delivery Point Validation setting. Select Enable, Disable, or Use global setting. The Use global setting is selected by default.

LACS - This is the US Locatable Address Conversion Service (LACS) setting for the USPS. Select Enable, Disable, or Use global setting. The Use global setting is selected by default.

RDI - This is the Residential Delivery Indicator (RDI) setting. Select Enable, Disable, or Use Global Setting. Use Global Setting is selected by default.

eLOT - Specifies the USPS eLOT© information is used to presort mail in the delivery order for a specified carrier route. The number contains a sequence number and an ascending/descending code. Select Enable, Disable, or Use global setting. The Use global setting is selected by default.

The Canada section of the dialog includes the following elements:

SERP compliance - When selected, specifies that the Address Verification (US/Canada) node should apply the Software Evaluation and Recognition Program (SERP), which is a program the Canadian Post administers to certify address verification software. You also must select the Generate CPC Statement of Accuracy checkbox and specify an output file location.

Generate CPC Statement of Accuracy - When selected, applies the Canadian Post Certification (CPC) standards when modifying your address data. Click Browse to complete the required form.

Note Note: The CPC is an account number obtained by Canada Post.

Correct rural addresses - When selected, rural addresses are corrected during the address verification process. If this option is not selected, the rural addresses are not changed during the process.

Correct Large Volume Receivers - When selected, the address verification process corrects Large Volume Receiver (LVR) addresses. If this option is not selected, when the process identifies an LVR address, the address is recognized as valid and no corrections are made to any of the address components.

Pass valid addresses through - When selected, valid addresses are allowed to pass through the system without modification. When this option is selected, changes like street or state abbreviations are not changed.
