DataFlux Data Management Studio 2.7: User Guide
You can use the Data tab to review the data in a selected table or master data project. (When you access the Data tab from a master data project, the data from the MDM_SURVIVINGRECORDS_VW table is displayed. This table contains all of the surviving records in the project.) You can also search, filter, or sort the data; save it as a query or profile; or generate a simple reporting graphic based on the data. You can use Shift-click on consecutive column headers to add additional columns to the sort criteria. The tab contains the following elements:
Filter Row - Displays the current filter setting, if a filter has been set. The default filter limits the data viewer sample to 500 rows. You should limit this setting to no more than 3000 rows. A higher Maximum rows setting in the filter can cause the view to fail.
Action Menu - Enables you to perform actions on fields in the table. You can also right-click in the Data tab to perform the actions shown in the pop-up menu.
Go to row field - Enables you to specify a row in the table for navigation purposes.
Go to row button - Scrolls to the specified row in the table.
Go to the first row - Scrolls to the first row in the table.
Go to the last row - Scrolls to the final row in the table.
Show Find Pane - Displays the following elements used for searching:
Filter - Enables you to set filters that control the size of the sample, the rows displayed, and the fields displayed in the table in the Data tab. For more information, see Data Viewer - Filters.
Sort By - Displays the Sort dialog, which enables you to specify the sort fields, sort direction for each field, and sort order of the fields.
Add Field to Collection - Enables you to add one or more selected fields to a new or existing collection, which you can edit in the Collection editor.
Profile Field - Enables you to save one or more selected fields as a Profile, which you can edit in the Profile editor.
Show Field Analysis Pane - Enables you to review a graphic display for a selected field in the table. You can configure these graphics by setting options that change dynamically, depending on the field and the type of graphic. The pane contains tabs that contain depictions of counts, lengths, and reports. You can click the drop-down menu in the Statistic field in the Report tab to select from the following statistics: count, mean, median, sum, and no summarization.
Table - Displays the rows of data in the table that you have opened.
Note: The third-party driver used by the Data tab does not support Unicode files. However, the Text File Input node does support Unicode text files. Therefore, this limitation does not prevent you from using a Unicode text file as an input to a data job.
