Expression Editor Options

These global options apply to all uses of the application. The Expression Editor can be accessed a variety of places within DataFlux Data Management Studio, including the following:

• Expression process job nodes
• If/Then process job nodes
• Expression data job nodes
• custom metrics and rules in the Business Rule Manager
• the Surviving Record Identification Field Rules editor
• the Data Validation editor
• the Expression editors in data and process jobs

• the Cluster Analysis Record Rule editor

The Settings section of the Expression Editor tab enables you to set the following general display options:

• Tab size
• Font size
• Word Wrap (with an option to show visual glyphs when you enable word wrap)
• Show line numbers
• Split editor horizontally
• Split editor vertically
• Show line modification marks

The Display items section lists the following types of display items:

• Comment
• DateConstant
• DataType
• Function
• Identifier
• Keyword
• NumberConstant
• StringConstant

You can also specify a foreground and background color for each element. Finally, you can bold or italicize the text of each item.
