DataFlux Data Management Studio 2.6: User Guide
You can add a Field Layout node to a data job to rename and reorder field names as they pass out of this node. Note that some nodes can access the Additional Outputs dialog In that case, you can achieve similar functionality through that mechanism rather than using this node as a follow-up step.
You can use this node in conjunction with jobs that use the External Data Provider node. With such jobs, you might not always have as your last step a data source node or some other node that allows you to rename or reorder your fields. This node lets you control the output of that job or service.
Once you have added the node, you can double-click it to open its properties dialog. The properties dialog includes the following elements:
Name - Specifies a name for the node.
Notes - Enables you to open the Notes dialog. You use the dialog to enter optional details or any other relevant information for the input.
Available fields - Displays the fields that you can make available for the next step in your data job. Items displayed in this list are dependent on your data sources and any preceding steps in your data job.
Selected fields - Displays the fields that will be made available to the next node in your data job.
Sort Fields - Enables you to sort the selected fields in alphabetical order.
You can access the following advanced property by right-clicking theField Layout node:
