DataFlux Data Management Studio 2.6: User Guide
You can add a Concatenate node to a data job to combine one or more fields into a single field. Once you have added the node, you can double-click it to open its properties dialog. The properties dialog includes the following elements:
Name - Specifies a name for the node.
Notes - Enables you to open the Notes dialog. You use the dialog to enter optional details or any other relevant information for the input.
Output Field - Enables you to specify the name of the new field that contains the concatenated information.
The Concatenation section of the dialog includes the following elements:
Literal Text/Add Text - Enables you to insert characters in between field values of the fields that are moved from the Available Fields list to the Concatenation list. For example, you could add commas or spaces between the field names.
Available Fields - Contains all of the fields you can concatenate. Items displayed in this list are dependent on your data source(s) and any nodes preceding Concatenate in your data job. To select a field, click the field name in the Available Fields list and click Add to move the field to the Concatenation list.
Concatenation List - Displays the fields and literal text you have specified for concatenation. For each item in the list, the Type column displays whether it is a field or literal text. Click the up and down arrows to change the order of the list items. Click Delete to remove fields and text from the list.
Additional Outputs - Displays the Additional Outputs dialog. This dialog enables you to specify the fields that you can make available to the next node in your data job.
You can access the following advanced properties by right-clicking the Concatenate node:
