Field Extraction Node

You can add a Field Extraction node to a data job to pull information from a free form text field so you can analyze product information. Once you have added the node, you can double-click it to open its properties dialog. The properties dialog includes the following elements:

Name - Specifies a name for the node.

Notes - Enables you to open the Notes dialog. You use the dialog to enter optional details or any other relevant information for the input.

Locale - Specifies the locale within your Quality Knowledge Base (QKB) used for the extraction.

Extraction field - Enables you to select the field that will be extracted when this node runs. This field is dependent upon your input node.

Definition - Enables you to select the definition used for the extraction. When you change the definition, the available tokens change. This list depends on the active QKB.

Result code field - When selected, passes the results of the extraction operation to the output of the node. When you select this option, the field below becomes active. You can enter a distinctive name for the Result code field in this field.

The Tokens section of the dialog includes the following elements:

Available - Displays the fields that you can make available for the next step in your data job. Items displayed in this list are dependent on your data sources and any preceding steps in your data job.

Selected - Displays the fields that will be made available to the next node in your data job.

Additional Outputs - Displays the Additional Outputs dialog. This dialog enables you to specify the fields that you can make available to the next node in your data job.

Preserve null values - When selected, specifies that null values in the data source are preserved.

You can access the following advanced properties by right-clicking the Field Extraction node:
