DataFlux Data Management Studio 2.6: User Guide
You can add a Basic Statistics node to a data job to generate basic statistics about your data sources. Once you have added the node, you can double-click it to open its properties dialog. The properties dialog includes the following elements:
Name - Enables you to enter a name for the node.
Notes - Enables you to open the Notes dialog. You use the dialog to enter optional details or any other relevant information for the input.
The Profiling section of the dialog includes the following elements:
Fields to Profile - Displays all of the available fields and enables you to select fields for analysis. Items displayed in this list are dependent on your data source(s) and any steps preceding Basic Statistics in your data job. Select any fields, or select Select All to check all fields.
Number of MIN Values (1-100) - Enables you to specify the number of minimum values for DataFlux Data Management Studio to calculate for each field that is selected in the Fields to Profile field.
Number of MAX Values (1-100) - Enables you to specify the number of maximum values for the calculation of each field that is selected in the Fields to Profile field.
Percentile Interval (1-99) - Enables you to specify the distribution of values for the calculation of each field that is selected in the Fields to Profile field. For example, if you select 1, 99 values are displayed, with each displayed value being the median of the values in each of the 99 percentiles (Percentile 1, Percentile 2, through Percentile 99). If you select 25, three values are displayed, with each displayed value being the median of the values in each of the percentile increments (Percentile 25, Percentile 50, and Percentile 75).
Number of Values to Accumulate - Enables you to specify a limit on the number of unique values used to calculate Percentile, Mode, and Distinct statistics. If the number of unique values in a field exceeds this number, these statistics are not calculated.
You can access the following advanced properties by right-clicking the Basic Statistics node:
