DataFlux Data Management Studio 2.6: User Guide
You can add a US City/State/Zip Lookup node to a data job to look up either the city or state by the ZIP Code or the ZIP Code by city and state. Once you have added the node, you can double-click it to open its properties dialog. The properties dialog includes the following elements:
Name - Specifies a name for the node.
Notes - Enables you to open the Notes dialog. You use the dialog to enter optional details or any other relevant information for the input.
Mode - Enables you to select the mode you want to use for the US City/State/Zip Lookup in a drop-down menu. The following options are available:
The Input fields section of the dialog includes the following elements:
City - Enables you to select the appropriate data input field for the City field in a drop-down menu. This field is unavailable when you select Lookup City(s) and State by Zip in the Mode field.
Suggest - Enables you to use DataFlux Data Management Studio to review the data input and suggest options for the City, Street, and Zip fields. The Suggest option looks at your data input source and attempts to select the correct field. If a good match is not located, the input fields in the City/State/Zip Lookup dialog remain blank and must be completed manually.
State - Enables you to select the appropriate data input field for the State field in a drop-down menu. This field is unavailable when you select Lookup City(s) and State by Zip in the Mode field.
Zip - Enables you to select the appropriate data input field for the Zip field in a drop-down menu. This field is unavailable when you select Lookup Zip(s) by City and State in the Mode field.
The Output fields section of the dialog includes the following elements:
Number of output fields - Specifies the number of fields that will appear in your output when this job is run. The default value is 1.
City Prefix - Enables you to specify the field name for your output. The default value is Lookup City.
State - Enables you to specify the field name for your output. The default value is Lookup State.
Zip Prefix - Enables you to specify This is the field name for your output. The default value is Lookup Zip.
Lookup Status - When selected, displays the result status in the output. By default the field name is Lookup Status. Possible status output includes the following: Success, Invalid City/State, No State, or Invalid Zip. This field is optional.
Additional Outputs - Displays the Additional Outputs dialog. This dialog enables you to specify the fields that you can make available to the next node in your data job.
You can access the following advanced properties by right-clicking the US City/State/Zip Lookup node:
