Overview of the Main Menu
Many of the options that are available from the main menu are also available the tool bars.
File
Contains context-sensitive options such as Save, Recent Files, and New > (item), such as a business rule, a job, or a profile. For more information about creating these items, see the relevant topics in the Folders Riser Bar section.
Edit
Not displayed in all contexts. Contains context-sensitive options such as Undo, Redo, and Clear Run Results (for the current job).
View
Contains context-sensitive options such as Go To > (Riser Bars), Refresh, and Show Details Pane (for the current job).
Actions
Not displayed in all contexts. Contains context-sensitive options such as Run Data Job and Stop (for the current job).
Tools
Contains context-sensitive options, but most options are always displayed. Options that are displayed include the following:
- Chart Viewer — Enables you to select and display a chart file (*.cht file).
- Match Report Viewer — Enables you to select and display a dfPower Studio report for legacy match-merge operations. For more information, see Viewing dfPower Studio Match Reports.
- Verify Individual US/Canadian Address — Enables you to verify one US or Canadian address, if the appropriate reference source has been specified in the Reference Sources folder on the Administration Riser. For more information, see Using Reference Sources.
- Address Update: NCOALINK PAF Administration — Enables you to set up various items that are required by the Address Update Add-On, if this add-on is licensed. For more information, see Using the Address Update Add-On.
- Monitoring Report — Enables you to select a repository and display the latest output from any data monitoring jobs that are associated with the selected repository. For more information, see Monitoring Data.
- Business Rule Manager — Enables you to maintain rules, tasks, and related items. For more information, see Maintaining Business Rules and Tasks.
- Customize — Enables you to customize Quality Knowledge Bases (QKBs). For more information, see Customizing Your Quality Knowledge Base.
- QKB Merge Tool — Enables you merge a source QKB into a target QKB. For more information, see QKB Merge Tool.
- QKB Difference Viewer — Enables you to compare and report on the differences between two instances of a QKB. For more information, see QKB Difference Viewer.
- Reload QKB — Enables you to load a newly-selected QKB so that it takes effect without the need to close and reopen Data Management Studio. For more information, see Selecting and Reloading Quality Knowledge Bases.
- Other QKB Editors — Enables you to select special editors for a QKB, such as the Chop Table Editor. For more information about these editors, display the help for that editor.
- Validate Licenses — Checks for any DataFlux licenses that might expire soon.
- Authentication Server Login — Enables you to log in to the DataFlux Authentication Server. For more information, see Connecting to an Authentication Server.
- Clear DSN Connection Cache — Clears any credentials that you have provided for DSN connections during this session. If the connection to a server is broken, and then it is restored in the same Data Management Studio session, then you might need to clear the DSN connection cache.
- Migrate Profile Jobs — Enables you to migrate dfPower Studio profile jobs into Data Management Studio. For more information about this task, see the DataFlux Migration Guide.
- Data Management Studio Options — Displays the global options window for Data Management Studio. For more information, see Data Management Studio Options.
Window
Contains options such as Reattach All Items and Close All Items.
Help
Contains the following options:
- Help — Displays a help topic for the current window.
- Help for Data Management Studio — Displays the main help topic for Data Management Studio.
- Data Management Methodology — Displays the DataFlux Data Management Methodology.
- About Data Management Studio — Displays version information about Data Management Studio.
