DataFlux Data Management Studio 2.6: User Guide
In the New Definition dialog, type a name for the new definition. Select a Definition type, such as Match, Parse, or Standardization.
Select an appropriate Data type for the new definition. To view the properties of existing data types, or to create a new data type, click the Show Manage Data Types button. Note that the tokens of the selected data type will be used as the inputs, outputs, and internal processing branches for the new definition. For more information about how tokens are used when editing a definition, see Editing a QKB Definition.
The Locale field is a view-only field. It displays the locale that you have currently selected in the QKB tree. If a locale appears in the Locale field, the new definition will be available in that locale and any locale that inherits from that locale. If a language appears in the Locale field, the new definition will appear in any locale associated with that language and any locale in the inheritance chain. If the Global level appears in the in the Locale field, the new definition will appear in all locales in the QKB.
To change the value in the Locale field, close the New Definition dialog without saving. Then select the desired context in the QKB tree (locale, language, or Global), and display the New Definition dialog again.
After you have created the new definition, it appears in the definition list, and a new tab opens showing the flow diagram for the definition. This diagram is a template that you will need to update. See Editing a QKB Definition for information on how to edit a definition after you have created it.
