Adding a Connection to a Data Management Server

Regular Data Management Studio users might connect to a Data Management Server to deploy jobs, profiles, and to perform related tasks. For information about deploying jobs, see Deploying Jobs to a Data Management Server. For information about deploying profiles, see Deploying Profiles to a Data Management Server. Server administrators will connect to a Data Management Server to maintain that server. For information about maintaining this server, see the DataFlux Data Management Server User's Guide and the DataFlux Data Management Server Administrator's Guide.

It is assumed that a Data Management Server has been installed and that you know the domain name or IP address of the server. Perform the following steps to add a connection to this server:

  1. Click the Data Management Servers riser. The Data Management Server panel displays.
  2. In the server information pane on the right, click the New Data Management Server icon in the tool bar. The Data Management Server dialog displays.
  3. Enter a server name, description, and a domain name or IP address of the server.
  4. Click Test Connection to verify your connection. Enter any required credentials.
  5. If the connection is successful, click OK to save your changes.
