Usage Notes for Master Data Management

Are there any limitations for Master Data Foundation projects?

The following limitations apply to Master Data Foundation projects:

• The total number of base attributes should not exceed 100. This number does not include generated attributes, which can add to the total. The limitation is based on variables in the expression code that generate the MDM Foundation jobs.
• Attribute names cannot be longer than 22 characters. This specification accounts for a maximum length of 30 for generated fields that are appended, such as DF_[ATTR]_STND and DF_[ATTR]_MC.
• Attribute names cannot begin with a number.
• Attribute names cannot contain special characters that would conflict with database naming conventions.
• Attribute names cannot be duplicated.
