For deployments that
include SAS Data Integration Studio and prefer to deploy jobs, create
flows, and schedule flows manually, you can export a data query as
a job, and then perform the deployment steps.
This feature enables
you to work with a data query interactively while you create it, and
then you can export the data query as a job for automating the operations.
After the job is exported, you can deploy the job for scheduling with
SAS Data Integration Studio. For more information about deploying
jobs, see Scheduling in SAS.
After a job is stored in metadata, you can open the job
with SAS Data Integration Studio and edit it. This might be necessary
if you need to add or remove columns or change the column expression
in a calculated column.
If the deployment does
not include SAS Data Integration Studio, then you can modify the data
query and export it as a job again. However, you cannot overwrite
job objects in metadata with the data builder. If you need to delete
objects from metadata (such as jobs, libraries, or tables), use SAS
Management Console.
To export a data query
as a job:
-
Use the SAS Folders
tree to locate the data query.
-
Select the data query,
right-click, and select
Export as a job.
-
In the
Export
as a Job window, enter a name and specify a location.
Click
Export.
