The logging facility
is enabled for SAS programs at all times. That is, it is not necessary
to specify the LOGCONFIGLOC= system option in order for SAS programs
to use the logging facility.
If you use the logging
facility autocall macros, the MAUTOSOURCE system option must be set
and the %LOG4SAS autocall macro must be invoked before any other logging
facility autocall macros are invoked. The MAUTOSOURCE system option
is set by default. No further action is required unless this option
is turned off.

functions and DATA step objects have no initialization requirements.
