The DENSITY data set contains the results of an experiment testing how the stiffness of particle board changes with its density. Thirty boards were tested, with densities ranging from 8 to 26 pounds per cubic foot. Stiffness was measured and recorded in pounds per square inch.
Simple linear regression is the appropriate analysis for this data set. Variable STIFF is the response variable, and variable DENSITY is the predictor variable, or factor.
