Example with One Grouping Variable

The table is appropriate for entering data for one-way analysis of variance when either the grouping variable (or factor) contains no more than 30 levels and no more than 10 response values were measured, or the factor contains no more than 10 levels and no more than 30 response values were measured.

For example, suppose three methods of teaching typing were used on five subjects apiece, and then the number of words typed per minute was measured for each subject. The data are the following:
