A temporary SAS data library exists only for the current SAS session. When the session is ended, the SAS data library and all information in it disappear.
When you invoke the SAS System, a temporary SAS data library is automatically created for you. Libref WORK is assigned to this library, which can be used for storage of data sets, catalogs, and so forth which will not be needed beyond the current SAS session.
