Overview of Interactive Reporting

The recommended method for generating, managing, and viewing SAS IT Resource Management reports is to run the report jobs that were created by the Adapter Setup wizard or by user-specified Gallery transformations. The report jobs are typically run in batch mode and the resulting reports are managed and viewed in Gallery Manager. However, there are situations that require reports to be generated interactively (for example, when performing specific IT performance analysis or when developing a new report). SAS provides the following solutions that enable you to run or view reports interactively:
  • SAS Enterprise Guide
  • SAS Web Report Studio
  • SAS Add-In for Microsoft Office
  • SAS Information Delivery Portal
  • SAS BI Dashboard
These solutions are discussed briefly in the following chapters of this reporting guide.
