Uninstalling SAS Federation Server

The uninstallation program for SAS Federation Server removes all directories and configuration files from the installation root. This includes the Federation Server Database which contains the system catalog. Before uninstalling SAS Federation Server, you should:
  1. Install and configure a new instance of SAS Federation Server.
  2. Migrate the federation server database.
  3. Move or copy unique files, including configuration, from the current server to the new server instance.
Note: To preserve your existing configuration files, copy them from the /etc directory before performing the uninstallation.
The following items are deleted when you uninstall SAS Federation Server:
  • The transactional database named SYSCAT.TDB, which is located in the /var directory of the installation path by default. SYSCAT.TDB contains the system tables for SAS Federation Server.
  • The SQL Logging database named SQL_LOG.TDB which is also located in the /var directory of the installation path by default. SQL_LOG.TDB contains monitoring data for SQL Logging.
  • Configuration files especially if modifications were made after installation. The configuration files are located in the /etc directory and the /etc/migrate directory of the installation path. The configuration filenames are listed in the table below.
  • Log files that reside in the /var/log directory of the installation path.
