In this section, you will learn how to use the MODIFY
statement in a DATA step to do the following:

replace values in a data set

replace values in a master data
set with values from a transaction data set

append observations to an existing SAS data
set

delete observations from an existing SAS data
set.
The MODIFY statement modifies observations directly in the
original master file. It does not create a copy of the file.
