Tools for the Business User or Applications Developer

Introduction

This chapter provides an overview of the SAS/EIS development environment and of SAS/EIS objects.

Before you design your EIS, you need to be familiar with the data that you will use. You need to determine how that data will be transformed into useful information and then into meaningful reports.

After you have analyzed your data, you decide which kinds of SAS/EIS applications to use and which data to access with those applications. SAS/EIS software provides you with a library of objects that create applications. You determine the objects that provide the features for presenting your data in the best way, and you prepare your data. You use the objects to build your applications, and then you execute the applications.
