| Moving Legacy Classes to the SAS Component Object Model |
All Version 6 SAS/AF classes
work in newer versions of SAS/AF software
with no modifications. Although the development environment is significantly
different from previous versions of SAS/AF software,
you can still view the same Object Attributes window and Region Attributes
window when you create an instance at design time. Any custom attributes windows
that you have created also work. In addition, you can use the new Class Editor
to modify your legacy classes.
To take full advantage of the features provided in newer
releases of SAS software, it is recommended that you enhance your classes
to fully exploit the SAS Component Object Model (SCOM).
