System requirements:
Before registering for a Live Web class, please verify that you meet the requirements to participate in the class. For
most Live Web classes, you will complete the course exercises through our virtual lab. The virtual lab allows you to
access the software used in class over the Internet, so that you do not need this software on your local machine. If
firewall problems prevent you from connecting to the virtual lab, then you need access to the software taught in class on a
Windows operating system.
SAS recommends that each student join the Live Web class independently with their own Web conference and telephone
connections for optimal participation in the class. To participate in a Live Web class, you need
Microsoft Windows 98 SE, 2000, XP, Windows Vista Home Basic, Home Premium, Ultimate, Business, or Enterprise (32-bit or 64-bit editions)
Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher
Mozilla Firefox 1.5
Netscape Navigator 7.1
AOL 9
Mac OS X 10.2, 10.3, 10.4
Safari 1.1 or higher
Mozilla Firefox 1.5
Linux
Mozilla Firefox 1.5
Solaris
Mozilla 1.7
Additional requirements:
Adobe Flash Player 8 or higher
Adobe Flash Player 9 or higher for Linux and Solaris
Minimum bandwidth is DSL/Cable
Wired Internet connection (not wireless)
Screen resolution set to 1024x768
To participate in the audio portion of the Live Web class, you need
a separate phone line to dial into the audio conference (toll-free in the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico. For all other countries, charges will apply)
SAS recommends using headphones instead of the standard handset or speakerphone
To verify that your computer will access the Web conference successfully,
perform a diagnostic
test for your computer. This will check for the supported version of Flash Player and the Acrobat Connect Add-in,
among other items; however, you do not need the Add-in to connect to a Live Web class.
Once this preview loads, you will see a slide show that advances slides every 4 seconds. If you see this, then your system is ready for a SAS Live Web class.
Most, but not all, Live Web classes use the virtual lab. If your class
uses the virtual lab, complete the following:
run this test to verify that your computer can connect to a virtual lab session through your firewall
if you are not able to connect to the virtual lab, please contact Live Web Technical Support at (919) 531-9338
To obtain the class materials, you need
the ability to download an installation file (.exe) from the Internet
or
an unzipping utility application (i.e., WinZip or PKZip)

may disconnect without refund any students who broadcast the Live Web class
to non-registered students.
Registrations must be made at least one business day in advance of the
class start date. Registrations made the same day as a Live Web class
cannot be guaranteed due to necessary pre-class preparation.
Recording
The use of recording equipment, including video and audio, is strictly
prohibited during the Live Web class. SAS reserves the right to record the
Live Web class for future rebroadcast.
EPTO Customers
EPTO training units may be applied toward the registration fee for a Live

EPTO cancellation
policy applies to Live Web class registrations.

registration fees.
If you are unable to attend the Live Web class for which you registered,
please inform SAS as soon as possible. Fees are fully refundable if
notification is received by phone, mail, or e-mail at least 8 calendar days
prior to the scheduled start date of an event; after that (7 calendar days
or less), the full event fee will be charged. Substitutions (name changes)
are accepted at any time prior to the class. Transfers are accepted up to
24 hours before the event start date with a maximum of one transfer allowed
per original transaction.
