This course teaches how to send htmSQL queries to a SAS/SHARE data server to produce detail reports, summary reports, and dynamic forms. Students also learn how to access the Application Dispatcher to run SAS programs dynamically.
Learn how to
- create HTML and graphic files using the Output Delivery System and the DATA step
- create hyperlinks to access the HTML files
- modify your SAS program to run dynamically from the Web browser
- run an SQL query from the Web brower
- execute SAS programs from a Web browser via an HTML hyperlink or an HTML form

Prerequisites
Before attending this course, you should be able to
- create and manipulate a SAS data set using a DATA step.
- create a simple report with the PRINT procedure.
- understand the basic concepts of SAS macro variables.
- use the SQL procedure or have equivalent SQL knowledge. You can gain this experience by completing the SQL Processing with SAS course.
You can gain the necessary SAS programming experience by completing the
SAS Programming I: Essentials course. HTML and general Web knowledge is helpful but not required.

Software
This course addresses SAS/IntrNet, AppDev Studio. Although this course focuses on the features in Version 8, there will be some coverage of Version 6 topics. (Information about the Version 6 HTML formatting tools is contained in this course. The material is covered at the discretion of the instructor based on class composition and interest.) While SAS/IntrNet is available on multiple operating systems, the course uses Windows for presentations and exercises.
