Professional experience:
After college worked for two different aircraft manufacturers, McDonnell-Douglas in Long Beach California and Beechcraft in Wichita, KS. Then did database marketing with Midwest-Consulting Group for a year and then joined SAS in 1995. Worked for SAS for 8 years and then did a year with the Clinical Trials company Quintiles, came back to SAS and have been working here ever since. I current teach over 20 SAS classes Programming,SQL, MACRO, all the Enterprise Guide courses, all the graphics courses and Report Writing.

What is your favorite training course and why?
I like combining MACROs with ODS Graphics or SAS Graphics or Mapping to create highly customized graphic output generated via automated routines.

What is the best part about teaching?
Seeing a student fully comprehend the possibilities of a concept when teaching a class.

Do you have any hobbies, favorite activities, or hidden talents?
I like to hike and fish and kayak and listen to all kinds of music and watch movies.

What is your favorite place or dream vacation destination?
To spend a couple of months on a boat fishing and snorkeling at the Great Barrier Reef.

What is your favorite movie, book, artist, or musician?
Favorite movies Hildalgo, Cold Mountain, Jaws I, The Sixth Sence, The HBO mini-series The Pacific. I have personal movie collection with over 300 titles.

What is your most memorable moment of teaching a SAS (or JMP) class?
I taught a class for DST systems in KC at their emergency operations center which was over 100 feet underground in a cave.

Are you passionate about a particular sports team?
Growing Up in KC I definitely like the Chiefs and the Royals. My neighborhood was a lot like the movie Sandlot as a kid.
