Using SAS since 1985    Teaching SAS since 2005

Professional experience:
Lise began her career at General Motors in 1986, joined SAS as a Systems Engineer in 1997, and then moved to Education in 2005. She has used SAS in some capacity in every job she has held and would love to be able to go back in time and share that with her 22-year-old self poring over the SAS/GRAPH documentation.

Courses I teach include

SAS Enterprise Guide 2: Advanced Tasks and Querying
SAS Macro Language 1: Essentials
SAS Content Categorization Studio: Building Models
SAS Sentiment Analysis Studio: Building Models

What students are saying:

Lise was great. She was very knowledgeable about the course material, and even assisted me in applying what I learned to some programs for work.
It was clear that she has an excellent understanding of the topic and she has impressive presentation skills that project the topics to the class perfectly. On Day 2, I signed up for Part II the following week because of her instructing abilities.
Lise is a skilled instructor. She was thorough and covered the content front to back. She welcomed questions and tried to tailor it to the needs of the class and how they will use SAS.

What is your favorite training course and why?
I love teaching SAS macro language courses. It is a tool that I have found to be so valuable in my own career that I really enjoy helping my students learn to use it. And, because I was a self-taught macro programmer until I started working for SAS. I want to make sure that they learn all of the important details that I missed, and avoid the headaches I had as a result!

Do you have any hobbies, favorite activities, or hidden talents?
After a quarter-century hiatus, I returned to playing tennis a few years ago. Now I play at least twice a week with friends and in competitive leagues and really enjoy it.

What is your favorite place or dream vacation destination?
I went to college in Michigan's Upper Peninsula and it is one of my favorite places. It is beautiful, remote, and full of history. My favorite spots are the Keweenaw Peninsula, Isle Royale, Pictured Rocks, and the Porcupine Mountains.

What is your favorite movie, book, artist, or musician?
One of my favorite books is Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut. I think I have read it three times: once in my teens, once in my 30's and again in my 40's and loved it each time.
