You have learned about working with data and tasks and now it's time to learn about some of the choices that you can make about task results and some of the things that you can do to manage your work in SAS Enterprise Guide.

Changing the Result Format and Style

So far, you have created the default report type: an HTML report that uses the EGDefault style. Suppose you want to create an HTML report in a different style for your Web site, and you also want to create a PDF file that you can post in the candy aisle of the shop. You don't have to start over to do this, you just need to change the style of HTML results and select an additional report format to generate.

You can do this for all the tasks that you run by using the Options window, or you can override the defaults that you set in the Options window by changing options in the Properties window for the List Data task.

Options and Properties windows

You have already learned how to set default options in the Options window. In this topic you learn how to set options for an individual task.

Exporting a File as a Step in the Project

When you ran the List Data task, you created HTML output that is part of your SAS Enterprise Guide project. Suppose you want to export that HTML file so that you can use it on your Web site. Each time you run the task, you want a new HTML file exported so that you always have the latest report on the Web. You can export HTML and other files, such as data, as a step in the project.

Next you learn how to change the report formats and styles for an individual task and how to export a file as a step in the project.
