E-Learning System Requirements

When you're ready to take an in-depth course from SAS, check out what you'll need to get up and running. We'll help you understand the technical requirements as well as what to expect from a tracking and practice perspective.

Technical Requirements

Desktop

  • Windows 7, 8, or 10 with latest version of Chrome, Firefox or Edge. Internet Explorer must be version 9 or later. Note that some software labs do not work with Internet Explorer.
  • Mac OSX with latest version of Safari
  • High-speed internet connection
  • Javascript and pop-up windows enabled
  • Screen resolution set to 1280x1024 or higher

Mobile

  • iOS 7 or higher
  • Android 5.1.1 higher

Video Player

Most courses use the Brightcove player to deliver video. This player automatically plays videos in the format required for your browser.

For courses that use the Brightcove player, you must be able to access Brightcove servers to play videos. If videos are not playing, you might be behind a firewall that is blocking access to these servers.

What Students Can Expect

Coursework

  • You will receive email instructions and an activation code immediately after registering for a course.

  • Courses present material in an audio-visual format interspersed with step-by-step demonstrations and interactive features such as questions, quizzes and practices. In addition, courses include closed captioning, printable video transcripts and search.

Tracking

Your quiz scores and progress through the course are saved on SAS servers. This tracking data is used in accordance with the SAS Privacy Statement. Data saved on SAS servers enables tracking to persist across devices.

Practicing with SAS

Most courses include practices or activities where you practice in SAS or in a software simulation. Depending on the course, you might use your own software, free SAS software, or SAS software in a virtual lab. Each course has information about setting up for practices.
