Using the SAS System Install Icon to apply a SETINIT on MAC


  1. Make a backup copy of the current SETINIT.SAS file. The SETINIT.SAS file is stored in the SAS612:TOOLS folder. Start the SimpleText editor, and use the file dialog to open the SETINIT file.
  2. The SAS System Install icon is located in your SAS System or SAS612 folder in the TOOLS folder.
  3. Double-click on the SAS System Install icon, click on CONTINUE and then choose LICENSE.
  4. You will be prompted to select where the SAS System is running from. Use the toggle arrows at the top of the prompt box to move to the appropriate hard drive location, and choose the location of the SAS612 folder. Make sure you only SELECTthis folder. Do not OPEN this folder.
  5. If the new SETINIT.SAS file is saved in the TOOLS folder, you will then be asked would you like to apply the setinit located in this folder? Answer YES.
  6. If the SETINIT.SAS file was saved in a different location, you will be prompted to select the location of the new SETINIT.SAS.
  7. You should see a message saying the license applied successfully.
