PROC FREQ stops processing when BY-GROUP contains 0 observations
|
PROC FREQ may generate OCx abends, generic critical errors, unknown
exceptions and severe errors depending on the platform. You will also
receive the following notes:

The problem occurs when a WEIGHT statement and OUT= tables option
are specified and the weight value for a BY group is 0 for every
observation. Therefore, there are no observations for that BY group.
The correct behavior is to issue the NOTES and continue processing.
To circumvent the problem, subset out the BY group or use a different
procedure to get similar results.
