Errors may occur when updating the SAS/GIS Tutorial maps

Errors may occur when attempting to make updates to the sample maps created by the SAS/GIS Tutorial. The errors are due to an underlying catalog I/O problem which may surface when running the SAS/GIS Sample Program named MKREGION.SAS which makes changes to the SASUSER.MALL.AREA SAS/GIS Map. However, the problem may occur when trying to update the SASUSER.MALL.AREA map or the SASUSER.MALL.STORES map in any way. SAS may abnormally terminate, or you may receive errors. The errors include, but are not limited to, the following:

ERROR: Spatial entry SASUSER.MALL.MALL not located or can't be read.
ERROR: Layer entry SASUSER.MALL.REGION not found.

The problem is specific to entries that are (or were) in the SASHELP library. This is the case with the SAS/GIS Tutorial map data, which arecopied from the SASHELP library into the user's SASUSER library when theSAS/GIS Tutorial is invoked. Therefore, this problem should not occur on any maps that were created from "scratch" by the user.

The underlying catalog I/O problem has been addressed on all hosts. Refer to usage note V6-SYS.SASIO-D256 for more general information.
