If you are installing certain SAS client applications on AIX, you must
install Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 1.4.2 SR2 build ca142-20050609
32-bit from IBM's web site:

Note that IBM requires customers to register to download this software.
From the IBM Developer Kits for AIX web page, select and read carefully
the Fix Info information under the link for Java 1.4.2 SR2 32-bit. Also,
read carefully the text at the bottom of the AIX Developer Kits web page.
The 1.4.2 SR2 JRE must be obtained by downloading the 1.4.2 Base SDK and
subsequent APAR releases from IBM. Please see the IBM News and
Frequently Asked Questions web site for more details:

Select Java 1.4.2 SR2 32-bit to link to the Downloads page for the IBM
AIX Developer Kit and Runtime, Java Technology Edition for IBM AIX.
Sign in as required.
Scroll to the section for IBM 32-bit SDK for AIX, v1.4.2 Old Base Code
NON-AIX install / NON-smit install format.
Review the README file for installation instructions. View the license,
then select the Accept License button to download the tar file.
Currently, the clients include:
- SAS Enterprise Miner 5.2
- SAS Forecast Server Mid-Tier 1.2
- SAS Merchandise Intelligence Server 2.2
For SAS Management Console: After installing the SAS Management Console
and Java 1.4.2 SR2 32-bit, the Management Console start script, sasmc,
must be edited to use Java 1.4.2 SR2. Edit sasmc (default location:
!SASROOT/SASManagementConsole/9.1) and modify the line
CommandToExecute= so that it references the location of the Java 1.4.2 SR2
module.
