Usage Note 13224: V6 engine does not support the DATECOPY option
When using the DATECOPY option with PROC CPORT to copy data sets, the
created date and time and the modified date and time of the data sets
are copied to the transport file.
If the engine being used to reference the source library is V6, a
warning will occur in the log when copying data sets to the transport
file. The warning is:
WARNING: The V6 engine does not support the DATECOPY option
This occurs because the DATECOPY option did not exist prior to SAS 7. If
you use PROC CIMPORT to write out the data sets in this transport file,
the most current date and time values will be displayed when running a
PROC CONTENTS on the data sets. This occurs even if the target library
has also been assigned with the V6 engine.
Using PROC CPORT to create data sets for use in a prior version of SAS
is not supported.
PROC COPY in conjunction with the XPORT engine may be used to create
data sets usable by SAS 6. However, the DATECOPY option on the PROC
COPY statement will generate the same warning message described above
and will modify the associated values of created date and time and last
modified date and time.
