Usage Note 13207: Security warning generated when attempting a SAS/CONNECT SIGNON from a
Windows XP SP2 client
When attempting a SAS/CONNECT SIGNON from a Windows XP client running
Service Pack 2, a Windows Security Alert window may pop up.
This pop-up window is due to a new Microsoft security feature that
enables the Windows Firewall by default. The security window will give
the options of "Keep Blocking", "Unblock", and "Ask Me Later".
To avoid future pop-ups and to allow SAS to send requests from this
client machine and obtain the ports it needs, select "Unblock" so that
the SAS/CONNECT SIGNON will proceed as normal.
If the selection, "Ask Me Later" is chosen, then each time a new client
SAS session is brought up, the window will be presented again.
If the "Keep Blocking" option is chosen, the SIGNON will still complete
successfully. The blocking of the port is actually controlled by the
remote system.
