Usage Note 12960: A filter defined in the information map is not available when building a
report
When creating a report in Web Report Studio 1.0, filters available for
data items may not be displayed in the Filter drop down list. In
Version 2.1, the filter drop down list may not be displayed. This is
most likely to occur due to one of the following:
1. The data item is a measure, not a category. In Web Report Studio,
you can only globally apply filters to categories.
2. The map is based on a cube. The Web Report Studio Help explains
the limitations of using a cube as a data source ("multidimensional
data source"), including: "Filters can be applied to report
objects, but not to report sections."
For either, you can use the Filter and Rank options on a table or graph.
Filter and Rank do not list predefined filters, and only apply to that
item (table/graph), not the entire report.
