Problem Note 4037: "Error: Numeric field Overflow" message occurs when reading an Excel
file via ODBC
Using SAS/ACCESS to ODBC to read an Excel file can cause the following
error:
Error: Numeric field overflow
This message occurs if the column contains mixed data.
As a workaround, open the Excel file in Excel and highlight the column.
Then select DATA-TEXT TO COLUMNS. Navigate through the dialog boxes to
format the column as text.
