Beginning in Version 7 of the SAS Access products on UNIX, you cannot
append a SAS data set to a DBMS table if the data
set contains a SAS date variable without a date format. The problem
occurs only when using the APPEND parameter on the PROC DBLOAD
statement.  You will receive a DBMS-specific error message such as:

   error:  Incorrect column format.

or

   error:  Invalid conversion.

Currently, the only circumvention for this problem is to recreate the
SAS data set, adding a date format for the SAS date variable(s).  The
problem will be corrected in Version 8.2 TS 2M0.
