Problem Note 2989: Combination of PUTC, TRIM and LEFT functions may result in truncated
value
Starting in Version 7 TSLEVEL P1, the combination of the PUTC, TRIM,
and LEFT functions may incorrectly truncate the result to the length
of the original variable.
The circumvention is to either remove the TRIM function or add a LENGTH
statement to increase the length of the original variable.
